14/10/2023

On 14 October, we marked a significant milestone by hosting the inaugural “UC Corporate Charity Run” at the prestigious Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. This event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle through athletic competition while uniting the industry to support poverty alleviation and raise funds for The Salvation Army (救世軍). We were truly honored by the presence of our officiating guests for the 10km and 5km runs, including Mr. Ken Ling and Mr. James Ling, Vice-Chairmen of Uni-China Group, Mr. Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan, SBS, JP, Deputy Secretary for Justice, HKSAR, Mr. Ho Kai-ming, JP, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Hon. Stanley Li Sai-wing, MH, JP, Legislative Councilor, and Mr. Alvin Chiu Man Leong, Political Assistant to the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism.

We were also delighted to have both Mr. Benson Luk Hon-man, Legislative Councilor, and Mr. Bruce Lee Sai Wah, Political Assistant to the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, participate in the kick-off ceremony.

At the event, Mr. Jackie Ling, Chairman of Uni-China Group, shared the underlying concept of the inaugural charity run and our company’s business direction. Additionally, Mr. James Ling, Vice Chairman of Uni-China Group, joined a group of professional drummers onstage, delivering a captivating performance titled “華藝旗鼓耀建華.” The resounding beat of the drums and the fluttering flags created an atmosphere of excitement, igniting the entire event!

Renowned actor Moses Chan (陳豪), along with rising stars Telford Wong (黃庭鋒) and Danny Hung (孔德賢), and three remarkable sports figures including Maisy Ma (馬曉晴), the talented figure skater, Virginia Lo (羅映潮), the reigning champion of the Hong Kong Marathon, and Kingsum Yiu (姚敬琛), a distinguished elite athlete in Hong Kong’s track and field scene, also graced the event. They participated in the warm-up session with the runners, sharing their experiences and tips on race preparation, and injected even more energy and excitement into the event.

Always putting one foot in front of the other, committing ourselves to getting ahead, and staying ahead is not just the objective of running—it embodies the Uni-China spirit in running our business.
